Cloud B Sleep Sheep India Review

I bought this Cloud B Sleep Sheep for Ale after looking at it online a number of times, especially on Amazon.com. Unfortunately they didn't ship to India. We live very close to the main road that connects Whitefield to the city centre of Bangalore. So we hear every screechy BMTC bus, buzzing auto rickshaws and each and every horn happy driver going past. We also had a full on, raging building contstruction next door, add the two together with warm weather and no longer being able to shut the sound proof doors and windows all the time and you have a recipe for disaster. My son is very sensitive to sound and light, as many babies tend to be. I was almost ordering it from Amazon.com, shipping it to a friend's address in the US & begging them to bring it to India. I then happened to see it on www.hopscotch.in I was thrilled and relieved. I clicked on purchase and bought it right there.A few days later my package with the Sleep Sheep arrived via FedEx and there's been no looking back since then.
My son is almost two now and we have had it a year and a half almost. I can't even begin to tell you how useful it has been. From the time it arrived the Sleep Sheep has helped soothe, relax and filter out all the loud and disturbing noises that could hinder a babies sleep. It comes with four sounds you can select from: Mother's Heartbeat, Ocean Surf, Spring showers and Whale Songs. It has two AA batteries, which it comes with so you can use it right away. You can select from 20 or 45 minutes of play time and then it automatically shuts off. The speaker is pretty loud and the Sleep Sheep just looks like a regular stuffed, cuddly toy. My son used to love it and babbled to it all the time. It is also machine washable and although I only washed it once it looks as good as new and hasn't taken a beating as most soft toys do in a washing machine.
Now, when I opened the Sleep Sheep when it arrived I was under the impression it looked a bit different and after googling a bit I realised our Sleep Sheep was wearing a cream colored hat. Mmm...I wondered. I had ended up getting a different version of Cloud B's Sleep Sheep, without even knowing it! Our Sleep Sheep had the sound sensor and this was perfect for our noisy neighbourhood!!!
The downside of the Sleep Sheep for us has been the Velcro tab that attaches it to the crib. My son ripped it off in a matter of seconds. I've heard a lot of people say that they would love for it to play longer, all night etc but the sensor works fairly well for us. Alessandro hasn't been a night waker at all since a very young age unless he was teething or seriously ill so that probably helps too. To me this was worth every penny!

Baby steps

Welcome to The Alessandro Diary where I blog about my quickly growing bundle of joy- my 22 month old vivacious son, and in all the ways he has changed my life and all the ways my life will change yet in days to come. I also will review here a lot of baby products from India, Italy, Asia and occasionally the rest of the world. In between I'll do a reverse timeline for a while starting from my pregnancy to Alessandro's birth and right upto him being 22 months old. See you soon!
